Meetings can be useful. They can also consume hours of everyone's time without accomplishing much of anything. A practical look at why we meet, when we shouldn't, and whether an email, an asynchronous update—or simply letting people work—might sometimes be the better answer.

Remote, in-office, or hybrid—which actually works best? I’m starting to think the answer has a lot less to do with where people work and a lot more to do with how we manage them. Maybe we should spend less timcounting days in the office and more time figuring out whether the work is actually getting done.
